65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, O LORD.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.
X Teth
65 Do good to your servant
according to your word, O LORD.
66 Teach me knowledge and good judgment,
for I believe in your commands.
67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,
but now I obey your word.
68 You are good, and what you do is good;
teach me your decrees.
69 Though the arrogant have smeared me with lies,
I keep your precepts with all my heart.
70 Their hearts are callous and unfeeling,
but I delight in your law.
71 It was good for me to be afflicted
so that I might learn your decrees.
72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me
than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

z Zayin
49 Remember your word to your servant,
for you have given me hope.
50 My comfort in my suffering is this:
Your promise preserves my life.
51 The arrogant mock me without restraint,
but I do not turn from your law.
52 I remember your ancient laws, O LORD,
and I find comfort in them.
53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked,
who have forsaken your law.
54 Your decrees are the theme of my song
wherever I lodge.
55 In the night I remember your name, O LORD,
and I will keep your law.
56 This has been my practice:
I obey your precepts.

Proverbs 9
Today's reading is for Proverbs 9. I hope that the direct link to the chapter is as helpful for you as it is for me. It is nice just to click this link and hop over to read it when I'm preparing these posts! =) I've put other fun goodies on here for you too! Try the Daily Bible Quiz on the right side bar. There's a daily Bible verse you can read and a read the Bible in a year along the side.
I have to say that these chapters on wisdom and really listening to the Lord are coming at a good time for me. We all look at the New Year with fresh promise of good things to come and I am praying for exactly that in 2009! I want to see BIG changes come for this year and am taking steps to help make them happen. I want to follow Biblical principles and be a good steward of what has been given to me. I am really trying this in the area of finances this year. God wants His children to all be debt free and this is the year I'm really going to try and tackle that...at least start SERIOUSLY! With that in mind....
Have you been watching OPRAH this week??!! It has been GREAT as she has had guests on each day to help you live "your best life". Be sure to get the FREE DOWNLOAD of Suze Orman's new book: 2009 Action Plan: keeping your money safe & sound. YES! The whole book...FREE!! It will be free to download through Thursday of next week. That night Suze and Oprah will be conducting a webinar on http://www.oprah.com/ for 90 minutes that will outline more steps in the book. You must register early to have a "seat" which can be done on Oprah's site. I'm SO there! =)
